Do you travel or is it studio only?

Yes, I travel for outdoor family portrait sessions.  I know many great local parks, arboretums, beaches, and other locations that provide beautiful scenery for your session.  Whether you are looking for a light and airy sunlit field or windswept look and feel of the beach, I can suggest locations to fit your vision.

I am also available for in-home newborn sessions throughout Long Island, the five boroughs and New York City.  As a luxury service, in-home newborn sessions require a considerably higher session fee.

 

Are you licensed and insured?

Of course. 

 

 

Is my husband/significant other included in the maternity session fee?

Yes.

 

Are my older children included in the newborn session?  Does the newborn session include me and my husband?

Yes and yes.

 

Do you have all the props?

I have all the props, hats, wraps and backdrops for newborns you see on my site.  I stock several maternity wraps and a few gowns/alternate options.  For baby's first year I stock pettiskirts (aka tutus), and a few other key pieces such as rompers and knit diaper covers. 

 

What should I wear?  What do I need to bring?  

Each session type has its own preparation guidelines.  I will send you a link with the basics but that's also what our pre-session consultation is for.  After all, you can't design a stylized wall gallery that perfectly matches your home & style without one!

 

Are there permit fees for outdoor sessions?

For some very popular locations yes:

Planting Fields Arboretum        $100

Old Westbury Gardens             $150

Bayard Cutting Arboretum        $100

But I know of many free and beautiful locations as well. 

 

 

Can my pet be included in my session?

Due to allergies, I unfortunately can no longer photograph pets in the studio.

 

I am interested in booking a cake smash session - who provides the cake, you or me?

You do!  I can recommend some very talented bakers depending on how stylized you'd like to get with your smash cake.

 

Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes, I do offer gift certificates, however, custom photography is a very personalized luxury investment and art is subjective.  I recommend that your recipient be very familiar with my work and style and be committed to the time investment required for a custom portrait session.

You should know for a fact that it's September Blue Photography they want to book and not just "a newborn photographer".   Also, I do highly recommend that the amount of the gift certificate be at least the full session fee for the session type your recipient would be interested in.  Since there is no minimum order, they would not have to spend more beyond that.  However, if you'd like to include a minimum amount of files or prints, please look over my pricing list and design your own custom gift package.

 

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes.  I accept checks, cash, and all major credit cards.
